Albert canal walk

In the 1930's the Belgians digged a canal from Antwerp to Liege, to connect their largest harbor with the river Meuse, to have an easy way into their Hinterland: Germany. This canal is within the neighbor lands' border but right behind where I live. The canal walk shows the route from Vroenhoven (Riemst) to Veldwezelt (Lanaken) with its high slopes digged out of the marl hills. In Spring a sea of flowers cover these slopes.
